Dear Subscriber,
Welcome to the 11th edition of my newsletter.
Ok, so I've blown my goal for September already - as far
as being on time with the newsletter all month.
I have been doing more and more research on advertising
methods as well as the different programs around. I am
always on the look out for some new and effective
advertising resources and I like to be "up to date" on the
new programs and affiliate products so that I can recommend
or not recommend them to people, especially if they ask me
about things. So, in my research this past week I had
an e-mail conversation with someone that has me completely
baffled and has inspired this newsletter.
I was researching a company called SendMore that claims
to send your e-mails to thousands, possibly millions, of
opt-in subscribers. I found someone's site that had
their contact information on it, so I sent her an e-mail to
inquire about the program and how well it was working for
her. See, I've bought into programs like that and when
I tracked my ads I would get no clicks, or fewer than 20
clicks on my link-- which is just not acceptable. So,
before I wasted my money I wanted to find out how well the
program was working for someone else. Well, the
response from the person was that "she uses several
advertising methods and has a downline of 150 people so
something must be working." I replied to her, just to
confirm what she was saying- "So you advertise in many
different places, but you have no idea which ones are
actually working for oyu and which ones aren't?" To
which I received the reply - "Yes. You are good to
track your ads, I would if I had the time." If I had
the time? How could anyone possibly have that
attitude? If I had the time? How could she not
understand that she would have a TON more time if she
tracked her ads? If she knew which paces were actually
producing results and which ones weren't then she could cut
out the non-responsive places, thus saving her money and
time!
This woman was successful- had a downline of 150 in a
program without ad tracking-- I just cannot imagine how many
people she could have had in her downline or how much more
quickly she could have reached that point had she spent 20
minutes to set-up an account and then track her ads!!
You are too busy NOT to track your ads!
Best
wishes,
Liz Martinez
You Are Too
Busy NOT to Track Your Ads!
Picture this- you place 3 ads in the morning and by the
afternoon you have 1,000 visitors to your site. But
where did they come from? Did you get a sufficient
amount of hits from each ad to make it worth placing another
ad with that company? Do all the hits come from one
place? Did all the hits come from just two sources?
If you don't know this, then how can you 1- determine what
ads (headlines and ad) are working for you and 2- determine
what places are giving you the best response for your ads.
Then, what about if you get sales or opt-ins, or don't get
sales or opt-ins?
Your time and
your money is too valuable for you NOT to be tracking your
ads. How do you know where you should focus your time
and/or money if you don't know where your hits are coming
from? If you had 1000 hits from 3 ads that took you 30
minutes total to place, then you can decide to place those
same ads another day? But, what if your hits were only
coming from one ad which took you 10 minutes to place?
The next day you could save yourself 20 minutes and possibly
spend that 20 minutes placing ads in other locations.
What if you spent $100 to place all three of those ads, but
you only needed to spend $20 - would you say you don't have
time to track your ads then?
There are many
ways to track your ads, and some of them are free - some of
them offer more features if you pay/upgrade your membership.
But NONE of them are more expensive than NOT knowing where
your hits are coming from.
Here are some
resources for ad tracking:
TrackThatAd
- free services, but you can get more features and custom
links if you upgrade
AdMinder - offers a free trial, has better tracking
information and ways to determine the value of your ad
I hope this has
shown you the value of tracking your ads and I don't want to
hear anyone ever say "I don't have time to track my ads" --
just a few minutes of your time can save you hours of time
placing useless ads and can save you a lot of money as well.
Have a prosperous week!
