Welcome to the November 17th, 2008 edition of my newsletter.
Oh, My, Gosh! Well, just when I was getting all settled and was going to do a newsletter a week – all he** broke loose. My laptop got destroyed – beyond recognition. I couldn’t retrieve anything from the hard drive –AND to make matters worse, the back-ups that I was doing weren’t backing up ALL the files that I thought they were backing up.
So, I had to buy a new laptop – which isn’t all that bad because my old laptop had seen better days and the hard drive was pretty full. AND I bought a new back-up drive that is twice the size of my laptop drive so I won’t have any space issues.
As if that weren’t enough, my husband got laid off. Which, just like the new laptop, wasn’t all that bad. We’ve had our own electrical contracting business for quite some time, and I’ve been pushing him to work that full-time – well, now he has an excuse to focus on it more than just a part-time effort. He’s got a customer base and we have a relationship with a remodeling contractor who is happy to use us for all the electrical portions of any jobs he does. In fact, he is thrilled to hear we’ll be working the business full-time now. It came a little quicker than we had hoped – but it is definitely an exciting change in our lives. He’s got a few jobs for the next couple weeks – but he is also thinking about going back to work full-time. The big issue right now is health insurance and of course our other bills and expenses monthly.
So, that is why I’ve been “missing in action” here for a while. I finally took some time to sit down here and write something for the newsletter. I’ve been doing so much work and research on 1- our electrical contracting company and 2- my online businesses. I’ve been discovering that while I might be having results with them, the people who I recruit are not having results – some people might be ok with that, I’m not. I’ve discovered that there are 2 reasons for others not having results. 1- the person is not doing the necessary work, if that is the case, I don’t feel bad. Well, I feel bad if they have not done the work because I did not make it clear enough to them that they need to do the work or 2- the person does not know what work to do – they get overwhelmed or otherwise. If it is the second reason, then I feel bad because I feel that I have not done my job as their recruiter and mentor in aiding them/coaching them to success. I have taken a very serious look at this lately and how to make the information I convey to people more clearly.
So, I sat down and did some thinking about all the information available and ALL the wonderful success stories. Then I thought about the number of people who never get their success story - or who are still working towards their "breakthrough" and I thought about the difference between the success stories and the people who do not yet have success stories. What is it that makes them different and why is it that the "story" or "system" that these people provide doesn't seem to work for EVERYONE.
I realized, that the e-books telling other people's stories, while they have great information, will never "work" for other people. Do you know why? Because that e-book contains SOMEONE ELSE'S "Million Dollar Breakthrough"! Each person needs to come to their OWN "Million Dollar Breakthrough." The information contained in those products is usually very good - but it isn't the WHOLE thing or ALL the pieces of the puzzle. So, I decided to write an e-book that would put ALL the pieces of the puzzle into ONE place AND that would help EACH person reach his or her OWN "Million Dollar Breakthrough."
I added at the end of the book/guide 31 steps towards reaching your Million Dollar Breakthrough. I put a lot of information into the e-book and wanted to make sure I also put in some steps to make it easier to take action and not get overwhelmed.
