Dear Subscriber,
Welcome to the 15th edition of my newsletter.
Finally, we have a baby boy
in the Martinez family. I ended up going into labor
all on my own about 2 hours before we were scheduled to be
induced. We got to the hospital at about 8:00 and at
10:13 am on Thursday September 27th Jacob Michael Paul
Martinez was born. He has a lot of names, I know- the
Michael is after my grandfather and Paul is after my
husband's great grandfather. Our daughters are
thrilled to be big sisters and love their baby brother.
Our experience prompted me
to write another article. It made me realize that my
labor and deliveries have a lot to teach me and others about
business and life. I've decided that it will be the
article for this newsletter.
Also, I'm sure you've seen
the ads for the "20 Ways to Make $100 Per Day Online" -
well, my curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to
buy it. It is a VERY long e-book so I have not gotten
through the whole thing, but so far I am very impressed.
I would definitely recommend this as a resource for anyone
looking to make a consistent income online! You can
get it here:

Enjoy the article!
Best
wishes,

What I
Learned from the Birth of My Third Baby and What it Means
for Business
I have had
three children, two girls and a boy. All three were natural
births- for anyone who doesn’t know that means no pain
medication and no epidural. With the first two we barely
got to the hospital in time, so most of my labor time was
spent at home. This last time we had about 2 hours in the
hospital before Jacob was born. It was this past experience
that made me realize that my experiences are very abnormal
as far as childbirth is concerned.
You see, I
am able to manage the pain of the contractions and
everything very well. I am not loud and many people
wouldn’t even know I was in labor. Since I haven’t actually
seen anyone else in labor, I had no idea that my experiences
were so unusual and remarkable. But because we spent 2
hours in the hospital this time and had a couple nurses and
residents comment on how I was handling everything it made
me think about it. Then, I had several nurses in the
“maternity ward” (where we spent the next couple days after
the baby’s birth) comment about the fact that I had the baby
naturally.
So I spent
some time thinking about this. What is it that made it so
“easy” for me? What was I doing that could be so different
from others? I think there are three things involved
1-
I think I have a
pretty high tolerance for pain
2-
My personality is
such that I KNOW that worrying or fussing or being anxious
does NOT make anything better, it could in fact make things
worse so I avoid it.
3-
I am able to
FOCUS and VISUALIZE very well while I am in labor
It is
number 3 that is the biggest part of my labor survival, but
it is also the part that pertains to business. You see, I
realized that when I am having those contractions rather
than in that hospital room in pain, I am at Lake George
watching my kids have a blast in the water. Or I am
sledding with my kids. I can see them having fun and hear
them laughing and I am there and so happy for them. I am
focused and I am visualizing. It takes me completely away
from the pain and puts my mind onto something else. It is
amazing where I can be and what I can be doing. It is that
focus and visualization that needs to be applied to
business.
Focus -
You need to find one or two business or programs that you
enjoy promoting and working. One or two, could be three
depending on your individual situation. But you don’t want
to get too crazy. I am a firm believer in multiple streams
of income, but you do not want to stretch yourself too
thin. So, you pick the businesses that you want to promote
and you focus on those businesses. Do NOT get distracted by
the “next big thing.” I do know this is hard; I have been
known to get sucked in by the tempting sales copy and then
have to “smack some sense into myself.”
Visualization- You need to see yourself as a success. Put
yourself into the position of making ALL the money, success,
etc… that you want. You need to “hear” the things that you
and your family would say and “do” the things that you would
do. It is this visualization that will make you do the
things you need to do to get what you want. The more
specific you can be about your “dreams” the easier this will
be. What will you do once you are making $30,000 a month?
What kind of car will you drive? Where will you live?
In
summary, you can learn a lot from the techniques used to
effectively manage pain during labor. Childbirth can teach
us all some lessons about life and business. Your business
will thrive with focus and visualization. Focus your
efforts, don’t spread yourself too thin. Visualize what you
want and what you will do when you get it.
Have a prosperous week - I know I plan to!!
